Dottie,
I read my daughter's comments on my retirement.
I haven't spoken with her in months due to a spat.
Retirement seems to be the most natural state for me.
No time pressure, my only "boss" is my other half of over thirty-nine years. No more hellish commutes.
I am involved in numerous projects and am part of a group called Sacred Crossroads through MeetUp.
My diet is much healthier and balanced as my income is better.
When one retires from the State, ones pension is based upon ones three best years. I took a sizable pay cut when I forcibly demoted from Nursing Administration to Admin. Specialist 1, i.e. low paid receptionist.
Still cooking and creating new dishes and am surrounded by tablets that are dedicated to specific media:
Samsung Galaxy Note for my movie and TV show collection, Kindle Fire for my audio books and a Kindle Paper-white for my e-books.
Barb and I have a shared hybrid,(a cross between a notebook and a tablet) that is for the household needs.
She has her own notebook and I a desktop.
Every afternoon I have coffee or tea with McVitties Digestive Biscuits that I keep in the Tardis Cookie jar that you bought me.
Still remembering you fondly as a good friend, free spirit and artist of well rendered drawings/ creator of wickedly delicious pastries.
Write when you can.
You friend always, Steven
